Injection vial with unique oxygene barrier. COEX vials
MedicoPack has many years of experience with the production of multilayer PP vials with an EVOH barrier. They produce more than 4 mill multilayer vials per year in both standard design and customer specific design.
The multilayer PP injection vials are based on a PP/EVOH/PP buildup, where the EVOH material is an ethylene vinyl-alcohol based material. EVOH increases the barrier effects thus ensuring to increase the integrity of the pharmaceutical formulation.
The combination of PP and EVOH significantly increases the barrier properties of the injection vial against oxygen sensitive formulations. The materials used fully comply with the regulatory requirements for medical primary packaging according to the US Pharmacopeia (USP) and European Pharmacopeia (Ph.Eur).
The Multilayer PP vial is currently available in 50 ml natural version with a 20 mm neck. 100 ml size is scheduled to be released middle of next year 2021 and 250 ml size at the end of 2021.
Transparent, lightweight and with good impact strength, ClearVial is a breakthrough in primary packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotec industries. ClearVials is available in COC (Cyclic Olefin Copolymer) vial that replaces glass to deliver a very cost-effective and reliable solution for a wide range of medical products.
With the introduction of ClearVial, lack of transparency is no longer an issue with clear plastic vials. Made from an ultra-pure amorphous polymer traditionally used in optics, COC is a perfectly transparent material allowing for visual particle inspection at the filling line and before injection.
ClearVials are manufactured and packed in clean room facilities Class 10,000 (C) and the transformation processes of the COC material are so clean that the vials are ready for use directly in the filling line, cutting out the need for prewash and drying. COC can be irradiated and also resists a 121°C autoclaving.
The dimensions of ClearVial follow ISO standard 8362 and are identical in design to glass vials. It therefore requires no extra investment and is easy to implement in existing production lines.
